Family law
Tanner & Taylor has a well established Family & Matrimonial Department with a strong local reputation. We deal with all aspects of Family Law including, but not limited to, Divorce, Child Residence, Contact, Prohibited Steps and Specific Issue Orders. We are also specialists in dealing with the emotional stress of families who find themselves involved in Care Proceedings instigated by Social Services. Additionally we can advise unmarried families/cohabitees on the practical legal issues that they face and their legal rights and obligations in the event of relationship breakdown.
Upon a divorce or separation there will usually be the need to resolve various financial and property disputes. We will advise our clients on their financial and property rights, as well as the importance of a well drafted Consent Order or Separation Agreement. Negotiations will be conducted fairly but firmly and if litigation does become necessary, we will conduct that litigation vigorously. We are skilled in advising clients on their legal rights and obligations while also being sensitive to the needs of children and other dependants affected by a matrimonial break up.
We are members of specialist Family Law Bodies such as Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), Reunite (an organisation concerned with child abductions) and the Law Society's Family Law Panel. We can also deal with child abduction issues and are currently members affiliated with organisations such as Resolution and Reunite.
