Criminal Defence Department
Heather Monk – Partner
Heather joined Tanner & Taylor in March 2000 to complement the expanding Criminal Department. Heather is a qualified duty solicitor and experienced advocate. She specialises in all areas of criminal law, including road traffic, from the police station stages through to the Crown Court.
Heather is responsible for an extensive caseload, including advising professionals in high profile cases. Heather also represents clients at the Youth Court and advises on Military Law matters, including Courts Martial appearances. Heather is the Departmental Manager for the Magistrates Court.

Christine Baigent
Christine qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1995 and worked for Metcalfe & Co for 16 years prior to that practice merging with Tanner & Taylor in 2004. She is located at Farnham office. She undertakes criminal work, mainly in the Crown Court, as well as private client work including Wills, Probate, Inheritance Tax, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other Court of Protection matters.

Chris Hogg – Solicitor
Chris joined the Criminal Defence team at Tanner and Taylor in June 2009. Originally Chris was called to the Bar in 2000 and worked as a Legal Advisor to the Magistrates at Reading Magistrates Court until 2004. He then cross-qualified and became a solicitor in private practice representing clients across the Thames Valley in all manner of criminal cases. Using his knowledge of motoring law, Chris has successfully represented many clients for motoring offences across the length and breadth of England and Wales and continues to do so today. Chris is a qualified Duty Solicitor for the police station and Magistrates' court.
