Practice history

Tanner & Taylor was established in 1958 when Walford Taylor joined Peter Tanner in a single office in Aldershot, Hampshire. In the sixties the practice expanded into Farnborough and Fleet followed a few years later by the opening of its first Surrey office in Farnham.

The firm continued to grow during the seventies and eighties and established itself as one of the most well known firms in the Hampshire Surrey border region.

More recently in 2002 Bernard Crick joined Tanner & Taylor as a partner in the Criminal Defence department from another Hampshire firm bringing with him a team of criminal solicitors and paralegals.

In 2004 Tanner & Taylor underwent significant further expansion in quick succession. The firm merged with the Farnham based niche company/commercial practice The Rivers Partnership in October of that year and Tony Rivers joined as a partner in the company/commercial department. Then a month later Tanner & Taylor acquired the general practice of Bordon firm, Metcalfe & Co, and the three former partners of that firm, Malcolm Hanson, Tony Wilson and Bob Emuss, all joined Tanner & Taylor as senior solicitors.

As from 1 September 2007 Tanner & Taylor LLP have become a Limited Liability Partnership and is regulated by the Solicitors Regulated Authority for England and Wales.

The firm currently has offices in Aldershot and Farnborough in Hampshire, and Farnham in Surrey.
